From startup to $700 million
in ten years
The TravelEdge Group consists of three companies. Kensington Tours is an award winning private guided tour company. Worldview Travel is a rollup of twelve travel agencies and counting. TravelEdge is a technology company that supports client companies with proprietary technology solutions and centralized services.
TravelEdge is creating and fine tuning the technology, digital marketing and operational processes that are reinventing the travel industry. Our custom developed TMT operating system is a key competitive advantage for Kensington Tours and has powered its growth to $100 million in sales. Our DBO system powers Worldview Travel and its $600 million in sales across 15 offices. And our ADX operating system serves the $100 billion traditional travel agency market. The company also provides centralized finance, support, infrastructure, procurement, acquisition, HR and legal services.
In the midst of new technology and business trends some may consider travel old school and dull. TravelEdge will make you think again. We run like a start-up where the teams are lean the work is challenging and the rewards are high. We are growing quickly and very profitably without institutional investment. So we can build the right way – patiently and without compromise.
We are connected by a set of values. A passion to innovate, a sense of ownership, decisions led by facts, a desire to act quickly and fail fast, confidence with low ego, and a commitment to give back to those less fortunate. If you are a distinctive professional who would like to help us reshape the travel industry … join the team!
Jeff founded Kensington Tours in 2006 from his kitchen table. In 2009 he started a series of acquisitions to build Worldview Travel. He is currently focused on the launch of the ADX travel platform to service the $100 billion traditional travel agency market. Previously he worked at McKinsey & Co as a management consultant, and in the 90’s co-founded ObjectArts the leading Microsoft technical training company in North America. He holds an MBA from Wharton in Finance and was awarded the Lauder medal in Public Policy. He became a Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society and Explorer’s Club after driving his Land Rover Defender around the world through 120 countries. His first job was fixing Boeing 707 jets as a certified aircraft mechanic (if you don’t count the stint selling Kirby vacuum cleaners door to door).
Dave oversees the development of TravelEdge proprietary travel systems, tech support, and infrastructure for 16 offices in Canada, US, and Bermuda. Previously he was an IT consultant at Sapient developing solutions for large enterprises including Bank of Butterfield, TD, and Honda. Other roles included IT development for the top music streaming company in Canada, and digital advertising for Vickers & Benson. Dave played elite level hockey in his youth (and still does in his imagination).
John is responsible for mergers and acquisitions, IP strategies, and strategy. Previously he was a partner at one of Canada’s largest law firms with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances, debt and equity financings, the commercialization of intellectual property rights, and corporate reorganizations. John holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Queens University, a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Western Ontario and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. His last name has led to several frustrating spam filter entanglements.
Saeideh leads financial planning, systems and reporting, M&A integration, and financing at TravelEdge group spanning Canada, US, and Bermuda. Previously she held leadership roles at Marketwired and Sysomos Inc. She began her career at Pricewaterhouse Coopers within the Toronto and Dublin practices. Saeideh is a graduate of the Queen’s (Smith) School of Business, a Canadian Chartered Accountant, and a US CPA. She can spot another Persian a mile away and is known for using this (otherwise useless) talent to negotiate and secure directions when lost with colleagues in the Eastern block.
Alison is leading the continued profitable growth of Kensington Tours. She oversees a rapidly growing consulting team, marketing, procurement, and product. Previously she held leadership roles at Bank of Montreal, United Way of Greater Portland, Acklands-Grainger, Maple Leaf Foods and Procter and Gamble. She has experience leading numerous large change lean initiatives. Alison has a Masters Degree in Applied Science, Industrial Engineering from Dalhousie University. Her maiden name is O’Sullivan and she attributes most of her corporate success to Irish charm (temper).
Romeo is leading Worldview Corporate’s aggressive North American growth strategy. Previously he was CEO North America for Corporate Travel Management (CTM), Vice President of Global Sales in North America for Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) and Vice President of Sales and Marketing USA for Flight Centre division FCm Travel Solutions (FCm). Other roles included ExxonMobil and Ford Motor Company. His driving skill is infamous - at the TravelEdge Road Rally of Italy he almost wiped out the WVT executive team on an Umbrian exit ramp.
Cheryl leads the Leisure and Loyalty divisions of Worldview Travel, one of the largest Virtuoso agencies in the world. She oversees 15 offices in three countries, with over 600 employees and independent contractors. Previously she was Vice President at Merit Travel, overseeing the Loyalty division for 10 years and overseeing several hundred million in transactions. Other roles included marketing management at Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. She is also in the habit of regularly using embarrassing nicknames for fellow managers.
